So generally I don't post much, I'm more of a LJ-reader than a writer, but I just got back from an advance screening of PS I Love You and I can't help myself I just had to share.

I won't spoil the plot for anyone but I will say that it had me laughing and crying in equal measures. It was poignant and thoughtful/thought-provoking without being, in my opinion at least, overly sentimental and schmaltzy. The soundtrack was fun and the scenery a picture.

The real winner was the cast though:

I'll admit to not recognising Hilary Swank until her name came on screen but I think she did a great job. Gerard Butler was fantastic, having not seen Phantom Of the Opera I was really surprised with his singing voice <mini spoiler> but watching him prance around in boxers and braces (suspenders) almost broke me </mini spoiler>. Kathy Bates was wonderful as always and I really enjoyed Lisa Kudrow's character too. I had no idea James Marsters was in the movie going in, but I like the short dark hair a lot!

For the Supernatural fans out there , there's a lot of Jeffery Dean Morgan to appreciate in this movie. *nekkidbuttocksnekkidbuttocksnekkidbuttocks* I mean with the singing and the guitar playing and the cute Irish brogue and the bare feet *nekkidbuottocksnekkidbuttocks* I was just a big puddle of goo.
Although I must admit that it did make me laugh when my boyfriend turned to me part way through and said "Papa Winchester looks at look younger without the beard" *happy sigh*

So anyway I'll quit rambling and just say that I unreservedly recommend go see it as soon as you get the chance. And if any of my Brissie friends wanna go see it, I'd definitely be up to a second viewing!

That's it I've officialy done it - just got off the phone after telling my boss in the UK that I want to stay in Australia and that I'm not coming back.

The resignation letter has been emailed off too, so as of 4 weeks today I'll be unemployed (although since I won't be in the same hemisphere as my office until then, it's pretty much effective immediately really).

I feel like I've got shell-shock, I've been thinking about this moment on and off since I decided to fly out to Australia in May of last year, funny thing is though, I don't know that I thought I had the guts to do it  like there was always a little part of my brain saying "Nah-,you'll go back and settle into your old life once the 3 month break is up. Of course you will, even if you say you won't."

I don't know that I've ever felt more terrified in all my life, but it's done. The thing is now not to waste the opportunity, to make sure that I've given it all up for a good reason.

I figure it must be Christmas pretty much everywhere on my flist by now - so merry seasons greetings to one and all.

It's must first Christmas in Australia so I am lounging round in shorts and T-shirt, which is most most odd.

I have a little festive favour to ask, we're off on a camping trip to the coast tomorrow and I find myself craving some Kane-style Outlaw Country, however my mp3s and cds are all stuck in a shipping container somewhere between Southampton and Sydney, so if anyone knows where I might be able to find a copy I would be most most greatful - it would make my Christmas wish come true!!!

I'm getting all kinds of weird looks from the guys in the open plan office, but frankly my dears I don't give a damn! :o)

My day just got SO much better.

Looks like there's something wrong with my email account. I can send stuff but haven't been able to recieve anything since Friday - only just worked that one out too. *D'Oh*

So basically if you've sent anything since then it isn't that I'm ignoring you, it's just I haven't got it.

Hopefully they'll have it sorted out soon, but until then I'm kinda stuck.

I'm blatently on my knees begging but right now I just don't care....

I've gone and got myself hooked on Kane *Damn that hawt Outlaw Country* and since I have to wait forever for the Albums to get shipped 'cross the pond to Blighty I was hopin' one of you incredibly generous, gorgeous, fantasically wonderful, gorgeous, beautiful (did I mention gorgeous already?)people could help me track down a copy of "House Rules" to tide me over till they arive.... Please?????

Just got back from my other half's work Christmas do.

Trying to drink copious amounts of liquid to mitigate the hangover that is definitely gong to arrive tomorrow (or is that today... I'm not entirely sure)

Thought I'd post this now as I'm in a very good mood, could be the result of lots of free wine, or it might be all the helium I decided to inhale... who knows :o) If I leave it to the morning I'm be hungover and grumpy.

Okay the docs got it wrong. I don't have laryngitis I have Bronchitis, which is also yuck.

At least I got me some antibiotics now so maybe I might actually get my voice back and stop coughing my lungs up some time soon.

Just wanna say thanks to Ghetto and Al and all the others at the OSA VV for providing lots of smut based diversions and cheering me up heaps. You ladies all rock and you don't get told it enough!!!!

I'm trying to get my muse in gear and get my next VV chapter finished, but I'm not so good with the concentrating at the moment so it's kinda slow progress, just a paragraph here and there but I am working on it (honest!).

It's official, I miss talking :o(

It's so hard to communicate when you vocal chords aren't playing nice. Ville and I have had to resort to a weird kind of charades and it's getting very frustrating even if he is getting quite good at guessing what I'm trying to say.

I've missed my christmas lunch at work and now it looks like after many months of hard work I'm gonna have to pull out of the town pantomime less than a week before the show starts. It really sucks because I was really enjoying being the fairy... even had the best costume and a wand that jingled :o(

hummph it's not fair and I feel like throwing a tantrum only no one would notice cos I can't even yell and scream.....

Kay think I've got that out of my system now. Today I am mostly being very excited. A bunch of my Friends from Gondor One are in London doing Harry Potter stuff and they are coming to visit Bucklebury today for a long expected party.

I spent all of yesterday cooking and baking and making trifles, wrapping up everyones Mathoms and just getting this place ship shape and ready to go so we can trash it later when we've had to much champagne.... yippeee!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I should really go vacuum something and burn off all this excess energy... I'm like a bouncy little hobbit :o)
